Carolina’s Desserts
A wholesale and retail bakery making fresh Latin desserts by hand, at 1562 Central Park Avenue in Yonkers.
Custom cakes, ordered by text.
Monday to Saturday, 10 to 6. Closed Sunday.
The four people name most often
Named by customers, not a list the bakery gave us. It is not the full range — ask.
- Dominican cake
- Tres leches
- Chocolate mousse
- Gluten-free vanilla bean
Four steps, and most of them happen on your phone.
Customers say the ordering is the easiest part — which is worth writing down somewhere, because right now you only find out how it works by knowing somebody who has done it.
-
Step one
Pick, or describe
Choose something you have seen on the bakery’s Instagram, or describe the cake you want and it gets made to order.
-
Step two
Send a message
Orders are taken by WhatsApp message or over the phone. Someone answers and works it out with you.
-
Step three
Half up front
A deposit of half the price or more secures the date. Customers report paying it by Zelle.
-
Step four
Collect it fresh
Pick it up on the day. Lettering is often left until you arrive, so it is written fresh rather than sitting finished.
Every one of those four steps came from customers describing their own experience, not from the bakery. Until Carolina confirms them, treat them as what people report rather than as house policy, and settle the details on the phone: (914) 779-4000.
What people order again.
These are the cakes customers name most often. It is not a full list — ask, because the answer is usually yes.
-
Dominican cake
The traditional one, and the one longtime customers call their favourite. Usually ordered with a filling.
-
Tres leches
Thoroughly soaked, under a meringue frosting whipped to soft peaks. The one most people come looking for.
-
Chocolate mousse
Named by customers who have been buying here for years, for every kind of occasion.
-
Gluten-free vanilla bean
Gluten-free options are made here, not bought in. Customers describe it as delicious and not too sweet.
Fillings customers have ordered
- Guava
- Dulce de leche
Two fillings named by customers. There are almost certainly more; these are the two we could point at.
Birthdays, graduations, and more than one wedding.
Customers describe ordering for birthdays, a graduation party, and tiered wedding cakes — including couples who wanted something other than plain white or chocolate, and got guava and dulce de leche instead.
“We have been buying cakes for all occasions from Carolina for years, from birthday cakes to a wedding cake for our oldest daughter.”

How much notice?
Custom orders are the main business — give as much notice as you can.
We have not been given a minimum lead time, and we are not going to guess one for a wedding cake. Call and ask for the date you need: (914) 779-4000.
There are no prices on this page. That is deliberate.
Carolina’s Desserts does not publish a price list, so this page does not print one.
Cakes here are made to order — size, tiers, filling and lettering all move the figure — so any number written down without her would be somebody else’s receipt rather than your quote. A few customers have mentioned what they paid, in different years, for different cakes. Those are not published prices and they are not on this page.
The one thing customers consistently describe is the deposit: half the price or more, to hold the date. For everything else, the price comes from the same conversation as the order.
What a quote needs from you
Nothing here is a rule the bakery has given us — it is simply what the four ordering steps imply you will be asked. Have the date, the number of people, the cake and the filling in mind, and what you want written on it.
The writing is the last thing done, so you can still be deciding it later than you think.

What this page still cannot tell you.
This concept was built from public listings and from what customers have written about ordering here. Everything below is a gap, printed rather than filled in.
- The WhatsApp number. Customers describe messaging the bakery, but we only have the shop line, (914) 779-4000, and cannot confirm it is the same number that receives messages. So there is no message button on this page.
- The Instagram handle. Customers say designs are chosen from the bakery’s Instagram. We have not confirmed the account, so it is referred to here and not linked.
- Photographs. There are none on this page. For a cake business that is the largest gap of all, and it is only a gap because we have no images we are permitted to use.
- The full range. Four cakes and two fillings are named here because customers named them. What else is made, and what is refused, is not something we know.
- Whether the hours are current. The listed hours are Monday to Saturday, 10 to 6, closed Sunday. One customer described arriving at 10 in the morning some years ago and finding nobody there.
